| Spars for"Germania Nova" |
|
Germania Nova
Autumn 2009 Brasker Masten started the production of 12 spars for a replica of the German Schooner Germania Nova. It concerns among other things 2 masts of 33 metres and a diameter of 58 cm with on top of that a topmast of 17 meter. Furtheron the gaffs, a bowsprit and the main boom, which, with a lenght of 26 metres, is very imposing. This project came together in cooperation with Cadhead, Touchwood, and De Haas RVS. In October 2010 the spars were put on transport to Spain, where they will be placed on the hull. Read and see more (dutch)... |

Late 2007 Brasker Masten started the production of all wooden masts and spars for a replica of the famous Herreshoff Schooner “Elena”. The spars were made almost exactly as they were designed 100 years ago. Therefore a new old method was developed. In January 2009 the spars were shipped to Vigo Spain were they were stepped.
